Early Childhood Education
This is a brief statement outlining Early Childhood Education. First, let me start with an old proverb which I believe in and reflects education as a whole, “Be not afraid of growing slowly; be afraid of standing still”.
0-7 years of age is a crucial period on a child’s development. This is the period when children first develop their identity as they build a sense of self. How they see themselves, how should they function and how they expect others to function is relation to them? Therefore without Early Childhood Education a child’s success in the future clearly will be hampered as they are likely to suffer from development deficit.
A balance of social, physical, intellectual, creative and emotional developmental domains must therefore be met through play. Yes, learning through play is what Early Childhood Education is all about. Play obviously that comes in different forms would be more stimulating and engaging for children. Depending on the beliefs of educators and parents, these forms may vary. Aside from their Development and Individual Practice, other aspects play a part too. Strong links with family, home, culture and language can be seen as Cultural Practice. Also, overall it is important to mention that care should support families and should not act as a substitute. We need to help a child’s attention as well as his/her affection to develop in a healthy manner.
In conclusion, the main thing is its mechanism. It must be applied with a great deal of flexibility. The approach should be finely tuned to the life and actions of individual child. It is therefore important to form a strong bond with children, present possibilities and extend their ability to perform functions. All of which I hope to do as well as keeping in mind that the approach should be child-centred and unhurried.

UK2day – St. George’s Day
UK2day – St. George’s Day
The patron saint of England, St. George’s is celebrated on 23rd April. But unlike St. Patrick’s Day to the Irish, this day is relatively tame. Maybe there’s very little English left within us all but that’s just subjective. Ha-ha.. Although pubs and bars boast its marketing appeal and churches around England remind us that we should’ve have gone to Sunday schools more often, most would spend their day as per usual.
Well, I think until this day becomes an official, I quote, Bank Holiday, more people would celebrate it. Still, I’m proud of it and the day reminds me of my mate, George.

Spring springs a new challenge and admittedly, nemo seems to be destined to teach children and why not? He absolutely adores kids. I know they can be a menace at times but for the most part, they are a bundle of laughs. He’s looking forward to it.
